my little boy

Standard

it’s probably a little late but i am finally willing to accept that my first born is no longer a baby he is a full out little boy. now that he is officially 2 and a half today i will accept it. i couldn’t be more thankful for my fun loving, talkative, ALL boy, hilarious son. he is so much more fun than i ever could have imagined.

summer in the city

Standard

to say that we love summertime would be an understatement. we enjoy it with our whole being. i’m starting to wonder how we survive winter with all the time we spend outside. below are a few examples of why we love this season….

IMG_0924it’s a nightly ritual to eat popsicles on the front porch before bed time and run around the front yard until the mosquitos start to join in on our fun. either that or i say it’s time for bed…

typically before popsicle time hudson takes a run through the sprinklers. starting in the back yard and ending in the front. it is so much fun to watch the joy on his face. it’s also a great way to prewash his dirty clothes from the day.IMG_1025

we get wet in our swimming suits during the day at various splash pools or pads to beat the heat. minneapolis has an impressive amount of free splash pools in our area.  hudson has become quite the little fish as the summer progresses. lately he loves to say “look mom i’m swimming!! hurry look!”. i guess he is proud of his swimming skills.IMG_1070

this one loves the water too. we most often fill up the green pool in our backyard to take a dip in the water when we don’t feel like driving or walking to the neighborhood pools. we just have to take turns when hudson wants to practice his cannon balls.

then there are the playgrounds we frequent on a daily basis. brad’s bus stop is only 2 blocks away from home with a park on the way. a few times a week we go play at the park and wait for daddy to get off the bus to join us on his walk home. this could be my favorite time of day.

we also go for a lot of walks and runs with this sweet cargo. hudson loves to yell “go daddy go!” when he take him for a run. it’s pretty funny to watch heads turn as they hear our little guy cheer on his dad.

another activity we like to do in the summer is welcome new babies! my dearest friend liz had this sweet little thing on monday night. mabel grace is matthew’s younger sister and a perfect answer to many people’s prayers.  IMG_1100“the Lord your God is with you He is mighty to save.
