home

we are home! home from a long visit to michigan. we spent 11 days visiting our wonderful family and friends. it was an 11 days i was so nervous to be away from our house that is comfortable and full of all the “things” we need to care for our little ones. yet, i learned that i don’t need to be so nervous next time. it was wonderful! the time went by much faster than i anticipated and the boys did great traveling to and around brad’s home state. we enjoyed hours of watching hudson and his two sweet cousins play, spent an amazing weekend at my mom’s best friend’s home, gave thanks while celebrating the holiday, ate a ton of food, witnessed brekken meeting his family for the first time, caught up with friends, and simply relaxed. it was a great 11 days. so thankful for all our hosts!

since i haven’t posted in a while i’ll catch you up on the week’s before our michigan trip through pictures. it’s crazy to see how brekken changes in just a couple weeks!! he is one fast growing baby boy. 

stayin home

before brekken was born i was a little nervous about the transition to what i thought would feel like being stuck at home . i knew leaving the house with two babies would be quite a task. i can probably count on two hands how many days hudson and i have stayed at home all day. since we had such a beautiful long spring and amazing summer we at least walked to the park on days that kept us home. not only do we have a newborn in our home now but we also have winter quickly approaching. i was so nervous that we would go stir crazy being at home more often than we were use to. well i was right that we are stuck at home more often but i was wrong in not enjoying this time at home. the task of leaving the house with both boys and myself ready and dressed appropriately for the weather is most of the time not worth it. i’ve decided this is a good thing though. since it is such a task i enjoy being at home with my precious children all day long. hudson doesn’t seem to mind and has created many new games around the house to entertain us all day long. i’m sure we will get the hang of leaving the house together without it feeling so daunting sooner or later but maybe it won’t matter……

my sweet baby brekken is 1 month old today! here is a picture we took to celebrate his 1 month birthday. love him.
